Introducing Well-Bred to the Grove Arcade

From Weaverville, to Biltmore Village, and now to the Grove Arcade; Well-Bred is an award-winning bakery and cafe known for its breakfast and pastries. The bakery was first introduced to Weaverville in 2002 when a couple from New York decided to make a big move down south.

The creators behind the cafe, Ruben and Judy, moved to Asheville in 1998 to escape the cold winters and their busy lifestyles. Little did they know the busyness would follow them, but luckily they get to enjoy the tolerable Appalachian winters. Since 2002 they’ve acquired 12 vacation rentals and (now) 3 busy bakeries!

Well-Bred is definitely well loved! They’ve received multiple awards throughout the years, since 2014 they’ve won Mountain Xpress’s “Best of WNC” award. They’ve also been awarded TripAdvisors “Top Performing Restaurant” for the 8th year in a row! Needless to say, Well-Bred has what it bakes when it comes to keeping people satisfied.

The store is all inclusive when it comes to allergies and dietary restrictions. They have multiple vegan options, as well as gluten and dairy free treats. There’s definitely something for everyone at each location.

We’re so excited to have such an inclusive, highly recognized, and delicious bakery at Grove Arcade. It’s the perfect place for breakfast, coffee, or a quick pastry after a long day of exploring and shopping downtown Asheville.
