New Orleans-STYLE CAFE CELEBRATES FIRST YEAR
Bebette’s, a New Orleans-style coffeehouse, is celebrating its one-year anniversary here at the Grove Arcade. It’s not easy being a small business, especially one that opened amid a pandemic, so we are so happy to celebrate with them!
The cafe offers a variety of drinks, snacks, and signature beignets. During the month of September, they are offering a special birthday cake latte and birthday cake beignet as a celebration.
A beignet is a type of fritter, or deep-fried pastry, typically made from pâte à choux, but may also be made from other types of dough, including yeast dough. They are usually covered in powdered sugar and have chocolate or creme inside. The donut-like treats are most associated with the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Bebette’s beignets are made to order, so they are fresh and warm when you get them. Many people compare them to the famous Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. Despite COVID, Babette’s has done a wonderful job keeping customers happy and giving Asheville a little taste of Louisiana culture.
